How to Create and Edit Posts in Products

Written by Hub Support Team

Posts are now called lessons in the hub's course editor. A lesson is a single piece of content, such as a video, a text page, an audio file, a quiz or an assignment, and it always lives inside a module. This article shows how to add a lesson, fill it with content, and edit it later.

Before you start

  • Create your course and at least one module first. See "How to Create and Edit Categories in Products" for how modules work.

  • Upload large videos before you start if you can. Course videos can be up to 5 GB each. Other file types have their own limits, which you can check in Media Storage.

Add a lesson

  1. In the left menu, click Courses, open Products, and click your course to open the editor.

  2. In the Course Map on the left, click the module the lesson belongs to.

  3. Click + Add Content.

  4. Choose the type of content you want to add. Common options are a lesson (video, text or audio), a quiz, an assignment, or Import from another course. The exact labels can vary slightly depending on your account.

  5. Enter the lesson title. This is what learners see in their outline.

  6. Add the content:

    • For video or audio, upload a file or embed one from a supported third-party platform.

    • For text, write or paste your content into the editor.

    • Attach downloadable resources such as PDFs or worksheets if you have them.

  7. Add a thumbnail if you want. For video lessons you can pick a frame from the video as the thumbnail.

  8. Save. The lesson now appears under its module in the Course Map.

Repeat for each lesson. If you already have the same lesson in another course, use + Add Content > Import from another course, select the lessons you need, and click Import selected items. Imported lessons are copies, so editing one does not change the other.

Edit a lesson

  1. In the Course Map, click the lesson. It opens in the main editor area.

  2. Change the title, content, resources or thumbnail.

  3. Save.

Move or reorder lessons

  1. In the Course Map, click and hold the lesson.

  2. Drag it to a new position within the module, or into a different module or sub-module.

  3. Release to drop it. The new order shows for learners straight away once published.

Delete a lesson

  1. Open the lesson's quick actions in the Course Map.

  2. Choose Delete and confirm. This cannot be undone, so download any attached files first if you need them.

Tips

  • A new lesson starts as a draft. Learners cannot see it until you publish it. Check the status indicator next to the lesson in the Course Map. See "Statuses on Products".

  • Use Preview Mode to see the lesson exactly as a learner will, including locked and dripped content.

  • Learners are notified in the Client Portal when new content is unlocked or released, so finish editing before you publish a lesson.

  • Keep one idea per lesson. Short lessons get completed; long ones get abandoned.
