Drip content releases parts of your course on a schedule instead of all at once. A learner who enrols today might get Module 1 immediately, Module 2 after seven days, and so on. In the hub, drip is set on individual modules (formerly categories), sub-modules and lessons from inside the course editor.
Before you start
Build your modules and lessons first. Drip is a setting you apply to content that already exists.
Decide on your schedule in days from enrolment. Drip delays count from the day the learner was given access to the offer, not from the day you published the course.
A drip delay must be 1 day or more. The hub will not save a value of 0; if you want content available straight away, simply leave drip off.
Set drip on a module or sub-module
In the left menu, click Courses, open Products, and click the course to open the editor.
In the Course Map, select the module you want to delay.
Open the module's settings and find Drip Settings.
Turn drip on and enter the number of days after enrolment the module should unlock.
Save.
Everything inside that module, including sub-modules and lessons, stays locked until the module's drip date arrives. Learners see the module in their outline but cannot open it.
Set drip on a single lesson
Use this when you want a module to open on day one but hold back a specific lesson, for example a live-call replay that is not ready yet.
In the Course Map, click the lesson.
Open Drip Settings for the lesson.
Turn drip on and enter the delay in days.
Save.
A lesson's own drip delay is counted from enrolment as well. If a lesson is inside a dripped module, the learner has to wait for whichever date is later.
Check the learner view
In the course editor, open Preview Mode.
Use the View Content (Unlocked) toggle in the top right to switch between the locked learner view and the full unlocked view. This toggle only affects your preview; it does not change what learners can see.
Confirm that dripped modules and lessons show as locked and that the rest of the course is open.
Turn drip off
Select the module or lesson in the Course Map.
Open Drip Settings and switch drip off.
Save. The content unlocks immediately for all enrolled learners.
Tips
Learners receive an in-app notification in the Client Portal, and an email, the moment dripped content is released, so you do not need to send a reminder yourself.
Use drip for pacing, not for hiding unfinished work. Keep unfinished lessons in draft instead. See "Statuses on Products".
If you change a drip delay after people have enrolled, the new delay applies to them too. A learner who has already passed the new unlock day gets the content right away.
Drip and sub-modules work well together: drip the parent module by week and leave the sub-modules inside it open.
Troubleshooting
Drip will not save. The delay is probably set to 0. Enter 1 or more.
Content unlocked too early. Check whether the learner was granted access earlier than you think, for example through a workflow in Automations. Drip counts from that access date.
Learner says content is locked but it should be open. Check both the lesson and its parent module. If either still has a future drip date, the lesson stays locked.
