Statuses on Products

H
Written by Hub Support Team

Every course, module and lesson in the hub has a status that controls whether learners can see it. The status shows next to each item in the Course Map inside the course editor, and offers have their own Draft or Published status. This article explains what each status means and how to change it.

The statuses you will see

  • Draft: the item is hidden from learners. New modules and lessons start here, so you can build without anyone seeing half-finished work.

  • Published: the item is live and visible to anyone who has access to the course.

  • Locked: the item is visible in the learner's outline but cannot be opened yet. Content is locked either because it has a drip delay that has not arrived, or because it depends on earlier content being completed.

  • Drip: the item has a drip schedule set. It behaves as Locked until the unlock day, then opens automatically. See "How To Setup Drip Content for Categories & Subcategories in Products".

Statuses are set per item. A published module can contain draft lessons, and a published lesson inside a draft module will still be hidden because the module is hidden.

Change the status of a module or lesson

  1. In the left menu, click Courses, open Products, and click the course to open the editor.

  2. In the Course Map, find the module or lesson.

  3. Use the item's quick actions to change its visibility, or open the item and look for the publish control. New lessons that are still in draft show a Save & Publish option when you edit them.

  4. Confirm. The status indicator in the Course Map updates straight away.

To hide something that is already live, change it back to draft. Learners who already opened it will lose access until you publish it again.

Change the status of an offer

An offer is what you sell or give away. Even if every lesson is published, nobody can enrol until the offer is published too.

  1. In Courses, switch to Offers.

  2. Open the offer, or use the status switch directly in the offers list.

  3. Change the status from Draft to Published and click Save.

Only published offers can be chosen when you link a course to a product in Payments or in a funnel checkout.

A checklist before launch

  1. Every module you want learners to see is Published.

  2. Every lesson inside those modules is Published, or deliberately set to Drip.

  3. Anything unfinished is in Draft.

  4. The offer is Published.

  5. You have checked the course in Preview Mode using the View Content (Unlocked) toggle in both positions, so you have seen the locked view and the full view.

Tips

  • Use draft for unfinished work and drip for pacing. Mixing the two makes it hard to tell why a learner cannot see something.

  • Learners get a Client Portal notification when locked content becomes available, so publish a lesson only when it is truly ready.

  • If you manage many courses, you can publish or unpublish several at once from the courses dashboard's bulk tools.

Troubleshooting

  • Learner cannot see a lesson. Check the lesson status, then the status of every module above it, then the offer status, then whether the contact actually has access to the offer.

  • Status shows Locked but there is no drip set. Look at the parent module: it may be dripped, or the course may require earlier lessons to be completed first.

  • Offer not appearing in a product or checkout. The offer is still in Draft. Publish it and save.
