How to Transfer Your Domain from Namecheap to Your Mastermind Business Hub Account

Written by Hub Support Team

If your domain is registered with Namecheap, you can connect it to your Mastermind Business Hub by adding two DNS records in Namecheap's Advanced DNS tab. The domain stays with Namecheap; you are only pointing it at the hub so your funnels and websites load on your own web address.

Before you start

  • In Namecheap, confirm the domain's Nameservers setting is Namecheap BasicDNS. If it is set to custom nameservers (for example Cloudflare or a web host), your DNS is managed there instead, and you should follow the guide for that provider.

  • Log in to Namecheap in one tab and the hub in another.

  • Have a funnel or website ready in Funnels & Pages, or plan to pick one after connecting.

Step 1: Get the records from the hub

  1. In the hub, go to Settings > Domains & URL Redirects.

  2. Click Connect a Domain.

  3. Choose what the domain will be used for, such as a funnel or website.

  4. Type your domain, for example yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com. If you enter the www version, accept the offer to add the root domain too so both work.

  5. Click Continue, then choose the option to add records manually. Keep this screen open. It shows an A record for the root domain (@) and a CNAME record for www, with the exact values to copy.

Step 2: Add the records in Namecheap

  1. In Namecheap, go to Domain List in the left menu and click Manage next to your domain.

  2. Open the Advanced DNS tab.

  3. Under Host Records, click Add New Record and create each record using the values shown on the Connect a Domain screen:

    • Type A Record, Host @, Value: the value shown in the hub.

    • Type CNAME Record, Host www, Value: the value shown in the hub.

    • Leave TTL on Automatic.

  4. Click the green tick to save each record, then click Save All Changes if the button appears.

Step 3: Verify in the hub

  1. Return to the hub's Connect a Domain screen and click Verify (or re-open the domain under Domains & URL Redirects).

  2. Once it shows as connected, the hub issues the security certificate automatically. Open your domain in a new tab to confirm your funnel or website loads.

Troubleshooting

  • Parking page records. New Namecheap domains come with a URL Redirect Record for @ and a CNAME for www pointing to Namecheap's parking page. Delete both (click the trash icon) before adding the hub's records, otherwise you get a conflict or the parking page keeps showing.

  • URL Redirect vs A record. You cannot have a URL Redirect Record and an A record on the same host. If you want @ to load the hub, remove the redirect.

  • Only one A record for @. Extra A records, or an AAAA record for @, stop the hub from verifying.

  • Still "Pending". Namecheap changes usually take under an hour but can take up to 24 hours. If it is still pending after that, re-check each value against the Connect a Domain screen and confirm the nameservers are Namecheap BasicDNS.

  • Email keeps working. Leave MX records alone. Only the A and CNAME records for @ and www change.

Still stuck? Open the chat widget in the hub and our support team will help.
