If your domain is registered with Bluehost, you can connect it to your Mastermind Business Hub by adding two DNS records in your Bluehost account. The domain stays registered with Bluehost; you are only pointing it at the hub so your funnels and websites load on your own web address.
Before you start
Decide whether this domain will keep serving a Bluehost-hosted website. A domain can only point to one place. If it currently loads a site hosted on Bluehost, the hub will replace that site for the root domain and www.
Confirm the domain uses Bluehost's nameservers. If you previously pointed it at another service, the DNS is managed there instead.
Log in to Bluehost in one tab and the hub in another.
Have a funnel or website ready in Funnels & Pages, or plan to pick one after connecting.
Step 1: Get the records from the hub
In the hub, go to Settings > Domains & URL Redirects.
Click Connect a Domain.
Choose what the domain will be used for, such as a funnel or website.
Type your domain, for example
yourdomain.comorwww.yourdomain.com. If you enter the www version, accept the offer to add the root domain too so both work.Click Continue, then choose the option to add records manually. Keep this screen open. It shows an A record for the root domain (
@) and a CNAME record forwww, with the exact values to copy.
Step 2: Add the records in Bluehost
In the Bluehost account manager, click Domains in the left menu.
Find your domain, click the three-dot menu or Manage, and open the DNS tab.
Scroll to the DNS records list and click Add Record. Create each record using the values shown on the Connect a Domain screen:
Type A, Host Record
@, Points To: the value shown in the hub.Type CNAME, Host Record
www, Points To: the value shown in the hub.Leave TTL at the default.
Click Save after each record.
Step 3: Verify in the hub
Return to the hub's Connect a Domain screen and click Verify (or re-open the domain under Domains & URL Redirects).
Once it shows as connected, the hub issues the security certificate automatically. Open your domain in a new tab to confirm your funnel or website loads.
Troubleshooting
Existing hosting records. Bluehost automatically adds an A record for
@and a CNAME (or A record) forwwwthat point to your Bluehost hosting. Edit those records to the hub's values (pencil icon) instead of adding duplicates. Two A records for@stop the hub from verifying.AAAA records. If an AAAA record exists for
@orwww, delete it.Old site still showing. If your domain still loads your Bluehost website after a few hours, the old A record was not changed, or your browser is caching the old site. Re-check the DNS tab and try a private browsing window.
Still "Pending". Bluehost changes can take a few hours and up to 24 hours. If it is still pending after that, re-check every value against the Connect a Domain screen and confirm the nameservers are Bluehost's.
Email keeps working. Leave MX records alone. Only the A and CNAME records for
@andwwwchange, so email hosted at Bluehost continues to work.
