Adding PayPal gives your customers a second way to pay alongside cards. Once it is connected to Mastermind Business Hub, PayPal buttons can appear on your order forms, payment links, invoices, courses, and communities. Setup has two parts: getting two keys from PayPal, then pasting them into the hub.
Before you start
You need a PayPal business account. If you do not have one, create it at PayPal first.
You will be working in PayPal's developer dashboard to create an "app". This sounds technical, but it is just a few clicks and gives you the two keys the hub needs: a Client ID and a Secret Key.
Use Live credentials, not Sandbox. Sandbox keys are for testing only and will not process real payments.
Part 1: Get your keys from PayPal
PayPal controls this screen, so the labels may look slightly different over time. The general flow is:
Go to developer.paypal.com and log in with your PayPal business account.
Open the dashboard and click My Apps & Credentials.
Select Live (not Sandbox).
Click Create App and give the app a name, such as "Mastermind Hub".
Click Create App again. Your Client ID and Secret are shown. If the Secret is hidden, click Show.
Copy both values somewhere safe. You will paste them into the hub in the next part.
Part 2: Connect PayPal in the hub
In the left menu, go to Payments.
Click the Integrations tab.
Find PayPal.
Paste in your Client ID and Secret Key.
Click Save.
Part 3: Show PayPal buttons on your pages
PayPal buttons appear automatically once the right element is on the page.
Funnels and websites: add a 1-Step or 2-Step Order Form in Funnels & Pages. These support PayPal on their own, so no separate payment element is needed.
Forms: add the Collect Payment element to the form.
Then open a preview of the page to see the buttons. They do not appear inside the builder, only in preview and on the live page.
Where PayPal works in the hub
PayPal is available for order forms, form payments, payment links, one-time and recurring invoices, courses, and communities. It is not available for calendar bookings or for charging a card from a contact's record. If you need payments in those areas, use Stripe.
Tips
If both Stripe and PayPal are connected, customers may see both options at checkout. That is normal.
"Pay Later" options depend on PayPal's terms and each customer's eligibility. The hub does not control this.
Test a recurring invoice with PayPal before you rely on it for a subscription offer.
Troubleshooting
The keys will not save. Double-check you copied the Live Client ID and Secret, with no extra spaces at the start or end.
No PayPal button on my order form. Order forms added before 1 November 2024 need to be deleted and re-added. Older payment elements on forms also need to be upgraded to the latest version.
I can see the button in preview but not in the builder. This is expected. Buttons only render in preview and on the live page.
