If you want to send text messages to US phone numbers from the hub, US carriers require your business to be registered under A2P 10DLC (Application-to-Person, 10-digit long code). Without this registration, messages sent from a standard 10-digit number are blocked or filtered by the carriers. This article explains what A2P is, what the hub needs from you, and how to get it set up.
Important: A2P needs an enterprise-level upgrade
In the Mastermind Business Hub, A2P 10DLC registration is only available on the enterprise level. Before anything else, open the chat widget in the hub and ask our support team for the A2P SMS upgrade. We will raise the request with the Mastermind team for you. The Mastermind team will confirm the upgrade and let you know when registration can begin. You cannot start the registration yourself from inside the hub until this is done.
What A2P 10DLC is
A2P 10DLC is the carrier system that identifies which business is sending texts and why. It has two parts:
Brand registration: who you are as a business (legal name, EIN or tax ID, address, website).
Campaign registration: what you send (for example appointment reminders, course updates, promotions), with sample messages and how people opt in and opt out.
Carriers review both parts. Approved brands get higher sending limits and far better deliverability. Unregistered traffic is heavily filtered.
What to prepare
Have these ready so registration goes through quickly:
Legal business name exactly as registered with the IRS (or your country's registry), plus EIN or tax ID.
Business address, phone number, and a working website or public page that clearly shows your business name.
A short description of your use case (for example "appointment reminders and course notifications for coaching clients").
Two or three sample messages you actually plan to send, each including your business name and opt-out wording such as "Reply STOP to opt out".
A clear opt-in method: where and how people agree to receive texts from you (a form checkbox, a booking page notice, or a written consent line). The wording must be visible to the customer before they submit their number.
A privacy policy and terms page on your website that mention SMS and state that phone numbers are not shared with third parties.
How registration works after the upgrade
Once the Mastermind team confirms the upgrade, go to Settings > Phone System in the hub.
Open the trust or compliance section and complete the brand details, then the campaign details using the information above.
Submit and wait. Brand review is usually quick; campaign review can take several business days because it is handled by the carriers' reviewers.
You will see the status change to approved, or receive a rejection reason. Common rejection reasons are mismatched business name and EIN, no visible opt-in language, sample messages without a business name or STOP wording, and a website that does not show the business.
Troubleshooting
Messages fail or show as undelivered: your campaign is not yet approved. Wait for approval before sending bulk texts.
Rejected for opt-in: add a visible consent checkbox or statement to every form and booking page that collects phone numbers, then resubmit.
Rejected for website: your site must show your legal business name and a privacy policy that mentions SMS.
Texting outside the US: A2P 10DLC applies to US numbers only. Other countries have their own rules; ask support before sending internationally.
